Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems (TBHS) is a governmental non-profit Michigan Community Mental Health Authority established in 1974 to manage public mental health services in Tuscola County. TBHS is under contract with and funded in part by the Michigan Department of Community Mental Health, as well as, Tuscola County. Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems is a partner in the Access Alliance of Michigan, joining Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health, Huron Behavioral Health, Montcalm Center for Behavioral Health, and Shiawassee County Community Mental Health Authority. This affiliation is dedicated to excellence in behavioral healthcare. TBHS is a public authority with jurisdiction to provide behavioral health services to the residents of Tuscola County. Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems is a CARF accredited agency. CARF is an independent, non-profit organization that requires organizations they survey to meet rigorous standards before it grants them accreditation. The CARF surveyors reviewed areas which TBHS has strengths and areas in which TBHS "demonstrates exemplary conformance to standards".
